Resistless Resiliency
between the barbs
of a genetic prison
a nervous system twists,
turns and burns
a body,
exposes bones
and leaves
one an open wound
one drop
to resurrect,
infect, awaken
a forsaken
muscle group,
transforming
mobility
into a millstone,
a tree root,
planting claws
beneath skin,
reminding
of one’s fragility,
vulnerability,
one’s mortality,
one’s willingness
to live
carrying
this, a dust
receptacle
for the world’s idea
of what strength
looks like, what
ableness and
accomplishment
amount to
an empty grave
for me and you,
a soul that gave
love for as much
as it suffered
through
Dark and powerful. I love it!

This poem is so true about the human condition, and it flows so beautifully! You have such natural ability to reach great depths of thought and bring that so skillfully in your writing!
