Everything In Disarray
the monster of the house
grinds its teeth
once more
awakened
by temporal knocking
they call a breakdown
an unnatural thing
but it’s a sleeve
to cling to
through the swirling
stained glass
signifies a verge,
the last light
casts its kaleidoscope
on the floor,
centers the framing
every thread
connects to
another limb
and the
monster
dances with you
silhouettes of
marionettes
as dusk settles,
bleeding night
through a crack
in the curtain
the moon is certain
that all of its cycles
are beautiful,
but the possessed
woman gripping
fraying control
isn’t so sure anymore

Dark and powerful poem! I love how you build it up to the monster dancing with you and the helplessness at the end! Very good writing!
