Marvel
I’m wearing red
which cements
the idea
that this is a dream
“a power color”,
she says
from her weakest point,
a voice from the
rafters
all her books
preach a utopian
happy ever after
I have
paper cuts
that spell out
her name
filmed evidence,
close-up on blame,
ingrained resistance,
I fight shadows
& she knows
the hell from
whence they came
shake awake,
it’s just how
it always goes
she’s hanging
from my ceiling
by a bicycle ribbon,
still & smiling
I’m washing
blood stains
out of my clothes

I’m interested to see if you can write lyrics… I know you could…

I don’t know how to read music anymore or write it, but I have written lyrics for others in the past. I have a project I’ve been working on that is slow going but it involves lyrics.

You just seem to be very lyrical. 🙂

You’re a really good singer. I can tell you that!

Thanks. Years with no practice have worn my voice down, but I still like to sing.

A dark and disturbing poem! I like the rhymes in the middle. This poem also has strong nightmarish imagery, which makes it powerful! Very well written!
