Make a Wish
(for N.L.)
Upon an asteroid,
incinerated dreams
screamed into a void
by a heaven-sent soul
He’s got nowhere to go
and he’ll remain unseen,
closed ears can’t hear him,
he’s invisible,
Polaris
behind a foggy screen
And this man the world called mad
was just a poet
seeking meaning
in criss crosses across
a summer sky
I wish upon a dying star
that this world
wasn’t too quick
to vilify
I wish they knew the worth
of an angel of innocent reflection
who fell to Earth
I wish purity and positivity
were more protected
I wish for his words
to be resurrected
in every line read
that tears a person apart
The comet has passed on,
(it was only a satellite),
but stays scorched
upon my heart
It burns,
an effigy,
through the lonely, hazy night
