The butterfly is burning.

we’ll see each other’s
arms again, soak up Vitamin D

the bloodstream began
its yearly attack

these are the wonders
of dreams.

the self in silence is a stranger

they’re all in fire lodge pose
where every familiar talks backwards

this is a lie that’s easier to swallow
