#NaPoWriMo 2021 Day 17 : International Haiku Day

April 17 is International Haiku Day so I thought I’d write some haiku for today’s NaPo. Enjoy!

A Handful of Haiku

night pierced by a cry
sleeping babe plagued by nightmares
maybe it’s a cat

————————————-

frozen in distress
frostbit fingertips signal
arctic rescue need

————————————-

family gathers
getting ceremonial
begin with good smudge

————————————-

candied buttercup
sweet spring melting on a tongue
butterscotch nectar

————————————-

summer song warblers
tuning up for transition
morning comes sooner
