Celeste
born a heavenly body
not of her own,
corrupted
by a harsh world,
hiding her homeland,
looking up
to divine guidance;
starburst heart,
supernova,
her star trail aura
a light to all
doused,
she fades slowly,
blinking out
a glimmer
in a charcoal eye,
a falling comet
reduced to embers,
a dying orb
returning to a heavenly body
(April, 2016)
