my mind
is a record
on repeat

our voices lost in this void,
like phantoms, we avoid
all real feeling…

prices paid,
empty pockets
& callused hands

darkness
can shine too

The end of summer is making sure I feel it.

my wrath
drains crimson
down the bath

Flashes of lightning
illuminate you,
and I turn away
lest I cry.

I have learned to be glad
for the things I’ll
never understand

What about
when the heart knocks back?

I feel transformational
